The Evangelical Presbyterian Church
IN ESSENTIALS ~ UNITY
The EPC has adopted a brief list of essential beliefs which all member churches support. The essentials define a church that is Presbyterian in church polity and reformed in theology and church government, as well as evangelical in sharing the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.
IN NON-ESSENTIALS ~ LIBERTY
In the EPC, less essential matters are left to the conscience of individual churches and believers. This includes such matters as the freedom of a local church to elect its own officers, to exercise spiritual Gifts and to own and keep property.
Although EPC churches may have differing ideas on non-essential matters, they all work together for the common good of the Church.
IN ALL THINGS ~ CHARITY
A common theme running through all EPC churches is that we all show love toward one another, even when there are differences. A result of this has been a lessening of divisiveness and conflict and a directing of the church’s energy and resources toward the spreading of the good news of Jesus Christ.
